EASY FALL FAMILY ACTIVITY: APPLE PICKING, RECIPES & FREE PRINTABLE COLORING PAGE

While it isn’t officially fall just yet, we kicked things off with our first fall outing last weekend — apple picking! Nothing says the start of the season like heading to the orchard.

We went to Lee Peterson Tree Farm U-Pick Orchard near Becker, MN. They had rows of beautiful apples, and we picked Sweet Tango — one of my absolute favorites. Crisp, sweet, and just a little tart… basically fall in a bite.

Now, the fun part — what do you do with all those apples once you get home? I tried out a couple of my go-to recipes:

Apple Crisp — I found this recipe on Pinterest a while back, and it’s become a repeat in our house. It’s warm, cozy, and perfect with a little scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Apple Nachos — such a fun and easy treat! I slice up apples and top them with whatever I have on hand. Some of my favorites: melted peanut butter, Nutella, honey, mini marshmallows (freeze-dried ones are so good), granola, or even a drizzle of caramel. The options are endless, and it’s always a hit!

And since I can never resist adding a little creative touch — I made an apple-themed coloring page for you! If you’re planning a family orchard trip, print it out to bring along. It’s a sweet little way to extend the fun and get everyone in the fall spirit.
